1.4 Exercise 19

Avg difficulty 2.5

The set combination A⊕B=ABc⋁AcBA \oplus B = A B^{c} \vee A^{c} B is known as the disjunctive union or the symetric difference of A and B. This is the event that only one of the events A or B occurs on a trial. Determine P(A⊕B)P \left(A \oplus B\right) in terms of P(A)P \left(A\right), P(B)P \left(B\right), and P(AB)P \left(A B\right).
