16.4 Exercise 16

Avg difficulty 2.5

As usual, the acceleration due to gravity in these problems is taken to be g=9.80m/s2g = 9.80 \text{m} / \text{s}^{2}, unless otherwise specified.

At what rate will a pendulum clock run on the Moon, where the acceleration due to gravity is 1.63m/s21 . \text{63} \text{m}/\text{s}^{2}, if it keeps time accurately on Earth? That is, find the time (in hours) it takes the clock’s minute hand, which on Earth makes one revolution per hour, to make one revolution on the Moon.
