Back to Projection Into a Subspace

Exercise 16

Avg difficulty 3.0

Suppose that v⃗1,v⃗2∈Rn\vec{v}_{1},\vec{v}_{2}\in\mathbb{R}^{n} are such that for all complements M,N⊆RnM,N\subseteq\mathbb{R}^{n}, the projections of v⃗1\vec{v}_{1} and v⃗2\vec{v}_{2} into MM along NN are equal. Must v⃗1\vec{v}_{1} equal v⃗2\vec{v}_{2}? (If so, what if we relax the condition to: all orthogonal projections of the two are equal?)
