Corollary 2.17 says that for there to be an onto homomorphism from a vector space VV to a vector space WW, it is necessary that the dimension of WW be less than or equal to the dimension of VV. Prove that this condition is also sufficient; use Theorem 1.9 to show that if the dimension of WW is less than or equal to the dimension of VV, then there is a homomorphism from VV to WW that is onto.
