Exercise 6

Avg difficulty 3.0

Suppose N=8N=8, p=3p=3, and q=64q=64. Bob received an encrypted message from Alice,

e(x)=8x7+12x6+52x5+26x4+x3+62x2+4x+29,e(x)=8x^{7}+12x^{6}+52x^{5}+26x^{4}+x^{3}+62x^{2}+4x+29,

that was encrypted using his private key

f(x)=x7+x6+x5−x4−x3−x+1f(x)=x^{7}+x^{6}+x^{5}-x^{4}-x^{3}-x+1

which has an inverse modulo 3 of

F3(x)=2x6+x5+x4+2x2+2x+2.F_{3}(x)=2x^{6}+x^{5}+x^{4}+2x^{2}+2x+2.

What was the character that Alice sent to him?(Note: although the private key and its inverse look familiar, we used a different g(x)g(x) and ϕ(x)\phi(x) from the previous exercises to encrypt the message.)
