Problem 3

Avg difficulty 3.0

A perfect number is a positive integer that is equal to the sum of its positive divisors, excluding the number itself. All even perfect numbers are of the form 2p−1(2p−1)2^{p-1}\left(2^{p}-1\right) where both pp and 2p−12^{p}-1 are primes. Prove that any group with an even perfect number order is not simple.
